1. What cookies and browser storage are

Cookies are small text files that a website can place on your device. Websites can also use browser storage, such as localStorage and sessionStorage, to remember information in your browser.

This Cookie Policy explains the cookies and browser storage used by the current Guys Bar website. Browser storage is not always technically a cookie, so we describe it separately where appropriate.

2. Necessary browser storage

Some browser storage is used so the site and platform can operate. This includes storage used for admin sessions, platform state, menu and booking working data, settings and privacy preferences.

Necessary site functionality remains available without asking you to allow optional third-party content.

• Platform data fallback: guysbar_platform_* keys for bookings, guests, menus, settings and availability data where the app is operating in local fallback mode
• Admin session storage: guysbar_platform_admin_session_v1 when an authorised admin signs in

The public privacy settings panel does not show the contents of these values.

3. Supabase authentication and platform services

The website uses Supabase for database, authentication, storage and server-side functions. When an authorised staff user signs in, session-related information may be stored in sessionStorage so the admin area can remain signed in during that browser session.

Public visitors do not need an admin session to browse menus or make bookings where booking functionality is available.

4. Optional third-party content

Google Maps is used to show the Guys Bar location. The map is optional third-party content and is not loaded until you allow optional content or choose to load the map.

When Google Maps loads, Google may receive technical information such as your IP address, browser information, device information and interaction data.

You can change this choice at any time from Privacy settings in the footer.

5. Google Analytics 4

The website uses Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors use the website and to improve the website and services.

Google Analytics 4 may use cookies or similar browser storage after analytics consent is granted where consent is legally required.

Analytics may collect usage and device information such as pages visited, approximate location, device and browser information, referral source, interactions and session duration. The information is used to produce aggregated usage statistics.

Google Analytics is not loaded when optional content and analytics are rejected or when consent has not been granted.

6. Managing your choices

You can allow or reject analytics and optional third-party content using the first-visit notice or the Privacy settings link in the footer.

You can also clear cookies and browser storage through your browser settings. Clearing browser storage may reset site preferences or local fallback data stored on that device.
